How do I get my donation refunded?

If you are a donor, Contact Us with the email address used to place your donation, and as much information as you can provide about the donation (transaction ID, date, donor name). Once funds have been disbursed to the charity by the payment processor, you may be required to reach out to the charity directly and request a refund from their accounting department. We can help determine the best solution to process your refund.



If you are a charity on our default payment processor, Network for Good, who would like to refund a donation, email us at with the donor's name and email address and we'll dig right in.

Network for Good donations are only able to be refunded prior to the 10th of the following month.

If you're an NFG charity with a donor requesting a refund for a donation that you've already received from NFG, or the refund window has passed, the refund will need to be handled outside of CrowdRise.


If you are a charity on WePay who would like to refund a donation to a donor, you can issue refunds independently through your account's Report Center. Simply log in, locate the appropriate donation, and click REFUND on the right side. The donor will receive a confirmation email right away and funds within 3-5 business days.

Donations processed by WePay are able to be refunded up to 90 days after the donation date. Donations older than 90 days may still be able to be refunded but the charity may need to contact WePay directly to complete the transaction.

Charities are always welcome to refund donors outside of CrowdRise, via their own accounting methods.

Please note that issuing a refund for any contribution will automatically void the donor's original receipt.
